Ahead of Oxfam's regular series of
Oxjam gigs and music events in October is this launch party to get people in the mood. It's a Sunday daytime shindig, starting at 3pm and finishing at 10pm on The Lambeth's lovely terrace, but don't expect it to be too chilled, as there's a stellar DJ line-up to work over your dancing muscles, including eternally sleepless Maxi Jazz – MC from huge UK dance act Faithless – Elly Jackson of synth-pop duo La Roux, Patrick Carpenter – formerly part of influential and eclectic beat collective DJ Food, spawned by Ninja Tune maestros Coldcut – Jamaican music muso Mylon D (also resident at live reggae and dancehall party Lick It Back) and Nadia Ksaba, from NTS Radio host and producer on the ace Disco Bloodbath label. A pretty stonking day of eclectic rhythmic treats, all in all.
