Members of gloomy trip-hop act Portishead probably aren't the first people you'd expect to run a disco and boogie night, but Andy Smith, Portishead collaborator and warm-up DJ back in the day, has always been an open book kind guy, as his pivotal 'The Document' mix demonstrated. In this series of nights at west London cocktail bar Love & Liquor, Smith and guests will be jamming on '80s disco, proto house, go-go funk, early rap and classic boogie, evoking seminal NYC spots like Paradise Garage and Studio 54. It's guestlist only at L&L, but an email to reachup.info@gmail.com will get your name on there.
