South east London’s film lovers rejoice: Catford has a new cinema. Launched in September 2019 and taking the place of an old Poundland store, Catford Mews is a stunning community-driven cinema and entertainment space, the sort that dreams are made of. With three screens and a capacity of 200 people, the cinema plays a mixture of blockbusters and independent flicks, as well as hosting a number of Q&As. If all that film watching leaves you famished, there are five local traders on hand providing grub, as well as a café and bar. There is even a community room and a live music space (which has a late license), all with the aim of supporting and nurturing local talent and entrepreneurs. Sounds heavenly to us.
