James Habacker's Slipper Room – as featured in Beth B's terrific new documentary 'Exposed: Beyond Burlesque' – was perhaps the single venue that did the most a couple of decades back to help kick-start New York's neo-burlesque scene that continues to conquer the world and inspire glorious strippers and clowns the world over, not least here in London. (Sleaze at the Lockside Lounge is the most devoted instance.) At this supersweet one-off event, hosted by the Slipper Room's Mel Frye, NYC and London acts come together to explosive effect.
