London International Mime Festival 2013: The Old King

Banish thoughts of Marcel Marceau knock-offs trapped in invisible boxes: this festival dating back to 1977 offers wordless work from around the world involving everything from puppetry and animation to circus skills and new technology, including many UK premieres. 'The Old King' is a movement-theatre work by les ballets C de la B founder Alain Plâtel and performer Romeu Runa that sees a lone figure at the beginning – or end? – of the world struggling to articulate his experience.
