Banish thoughts of Marcel Marceau knock-offs trapped in invisible boxes: this festival dating back to 1977 offers wordless work from around the world involving everything from puppetry and animation to circus skills and new technology, including many UK premieres. This is the world premiere of the new piece by terrific puppetry company Blind Summit ('The Table', London 2012 opening ceremony), inspired by Cubism, McCarthyism and Catholicism and featuring 'a puppet Madonna, a cardboard J. Edgar Hoover, some giant heads and much more'.
