For some of us, sadly, going to the office isn’t always a treat. But those clever folks over in Lisbon have devised a way to make it far more rad – by opening a Surf Office. Devised by entrepreneurial surfer Peter Fabor, the office, that has its own accommodation, lets working teams book to stay for three or more days at a time. During their breaks from using the high-speed wi-fi and drinking flat whites ordered via techie messaging system Slack, visitors are encouraged to don wetsuits and catch some waves – before returning for more creative brainstorming and blue-sky thinking.

According to Surf Office – which already has four other locations in Spain and Portugal – it’s a place where people can ‘enjoy a beach lifestyle and get things done at the same time’. Unfortunately, we can’t see a Thamesside surf retreat holding quite the same appeal – nag your boss to send you here, instead.
