Planning a holiday to Europe this year? This could be a game changer. Eurostar is planning to launch direct trains between London and Amsterdam.

The direct trains will launch by the end of the year, which means you could be whizzing over there just in time for the Christmas markets. That’s your Christmas shopping sorted, then.

The new service means you’ll no longer have to change at Brussels on the Eurostar or schlep to an airport to fly there. Eurostar will run two services a day and the total journey time from St Pancras International will be just under four hours, so you can be mooching around the Red Light District or stuffing your face with stroopwafels in no time.
