At the risk of stating the obvious, the whole point of getting a taxi is to get picked up and dropped off without having to walk anywhere, right? But those whacky folks at Uber are switching things up, meaning you'll now have to walk to a designated stop if you want to use the car-sharing service, UberPool. Even worse, you might be dropped off 'a short distance' from your final destination to 'help avoid detours on the route'.

From 4pm today, if you choose UberPool, you'll be asked to walk to a nearby pickup point to wait for your car. According to Uber, the average walking time will be around 1-2 minutes and the new system will 'help Londoners get from A to B more quickly'. But let's not beat around the bush, UberPool is basically becoming a glorified bus.

And how far can you go with the £1.50 hopper fare?
