You can now get free wi-fi at nearly every tube station in London

Good news, tube travellers: you can now plug into the free wi-fi at nearly every tube stop in the capital, as Virgin Media has just announced they’ve spread the internet love to 100 more stations. This means 250 out of 270 stations (along with Victoria coach station) are covered under the scheme that kicked off during the 2012 Olympics – and even those travelling from the far flung corners of Debden can now tweet, post or get their surf on at no expense. Of course, not everyone can log on for free – you’ll need to be a customer of Virgin Media, EE, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2 or Three to take advantage, otherwise you can get online from £2 with a daily, weekly or monthly pass. And as for those 20 other stations that are missing out – soz Gunnersbury – TfL says it plans to roll out hotspots across the entire network in due course.
