[title]
Simon McBurney and his legendary theatre company Complicite’s ‘The Encounter’ was one of the greatest plays of the last couple of years. A hallucinogenic odyssey into the heart of the Amazon, it starts as an affable shaggy dog story told by McBurney and ends with the sense that space and time are being ripped apart (its light and sound are so impressive they they’re being honoured with a special award at this year’s Tonys).
It’s been streamed for free online before and is ideally suited to watching at home, as it requires audiences to wear headphones. That means you can experience its sophisticated sound design by listening on your own cans at home.
And now it’s back, for one week only, until May 25. You can watch it below. Brace yourself – and enjoy!
