Video: base jumper does his terrifying thing in Canary Wharf

Ever get a bit giddy looking down at the city from a glitzy rooftop bar? Suffice to say that base jumping probably isn't the new past-time for you. For the uninitiated, base jumping involves flinging yourself off a tall building (or bridge, or rock, or similarly lofty fixture) then popping a parachute and floating down to earth like a total badass.

Since base jumping off of buildings is technically illegal (unless you own the skyscraper you're jumping off, in which case you probably have more important things to be doing than jumping off of it), all of London is pretty much a no-go area for this hardcore hobby. But that doesn't stop adrenaline junkies like Dan Witchalls – subject of the video above, from excellent YouTube channel Day in the Life – from getting his fix.
