Back in December, Uber launched its UberPool service, which lets you save cash by carpooling (geddit?) with other people headed in the same direction. Sure, you might have to make small talk with a stranger, but you'll get a fixed price that's 25 percent cheaper than an UberX. And if no one else is heading your way, you still get the cheaper fare. It's a pretty sweet deal, but until now it was only available for pick-ups in central London and at Heathrow airport, but it's now been expanded out to include Hackney, Hammersmith, Holloway, Peckham, Putney and Poplar.
To encourage Londoners to use UberPool, they're offering £5 flat-rate fares when you use the car-sharing service this week and next week. All you have to do is use the code 'POOLFIVER' on any weekday between 5pm and midnight before June 10. You can use the code as many times as you like until June 10, so you've got plenty of time to try it out and save some cash.
