Are you waiting impatiently for the Greggs Christmas slice to hit shelves right now? (We ranked all the slices here, FYI.) Well, you're about to be consumed with jealousy when you hear about the latest Big Day Out hitting the North-Eastern town of Darlington.

While London has Street Feast and and a whole array of novelty cafés, Darlington – population circa 100,000 – is getting a wine and Greggs pasty pairing night this weekend. Vesuvio wine bar is hosting the event on November 8, with tickets priced at £25 per head.

Owener Darren Shield posted on Facebook: 'The rumours are indeed true. We have carefully attempted to match eight of their products with eight of ours, and we think we’ve come up with something intriguing at the least.'

So what's on the menu? Darren told local paper Gazette Live that they'll be teaming the chicken bake with an 'oaky' chardonnay, the sausage roll with a Portuguese red and the steak bake with a glass of malbec. The sausage, bean and cheese melt will be teamed with a southern French red, the pizza slice with a sauvignon blanc and the toffee caramel donut with a muscat. Pasty la vista, baby.

We also want Dubai's submarine apartments and Liverpool's glow-in-the-dark skatepark
