Tickets for the ArcelorMittal Orbit slide are finally on sale!

When the not-so-top-secret plans for a slide to wind down and around the ArcelorMittal Orbit emerged last May we were excited beyond belief, but weren't going to hold our breath until something more tangible became available. Well, London, it's time to breathe in!

Earlier this month we announced that work had officially started on Anish Kapoor's Olympic sculpture, and now tickets have been released. Eep!

The entry fee (£17, £15 adv) grants you access to both the viewing platform (meh) and a ride down the slide (weeee!) once it opens on June 24. Measuring 178 metres in length and 76 metres in height, the helter-skelter styled ride will form the tallest and longest tunnel slide in the world. A few computer generated images have been released, showing a tube with windows swirling down the structure like a bendy straw – a tube that's suitable for riders above 4'3" in height, under 23 stone in weight and strong of heart.

See you at the top!

Watch this dude stack it as he attempts to slide down an escalator in the tube.

Check out LA's seriously high-rise slide. Gulp.
