1. Skylight, the rooftop playground at Wapping's Tobacco Dock, has had a festive makeover for the winter season. It opens today in its new wintery glad rags and will be home to London’s first rooftop ice rink and street food stands selling fondue and festive tipples. Entry is free from 5pm.

2. Try your hand at curling, dine in a glass igloo and visit a ski-lodge bar at Roof East, the hip rooftop joint in Stratford, which is open again for the winter stretch along with a whole host of seasonal goodies. Entry is free from 5pm.

3. Visit the British Museum's new exhibition 'Living with Gods: Peoples, Places and Worlds Beyond' opening today. See religious objects from the end of the last Ice Age, an 18th-century replica of a Hindu ceremonial chariot and posters depicting Soviet atheism as the show delves into religious practices around the world. Entry is £15.
