 Ready. Steady. EAT!

Mamie’s

Opens: week commencing Monday July 25

Serving authentic crêpes and galettes galore, this will be a little pocket of Brittany in Covent Garden. We’re swooning at the sound of the La Bonaparte; smoked bacon, sautéed mushrooms, potatoes, St. Nectaire cheese and sour cream. But for the full crêperie experience, take a jaunt down to their basement Cidrothèque and sup on bowls (no pints here mon cher) of French, Swedish, Belgian and even Kiwi ciders.

Clipstone

Opens: Monday July 25

Meet Clipstone – Portland’s younger sister, located just a few minutes away on Clipstone Street. The young chef team are still serving up the same inventive dishes but with a more casual vibe – the seasonal menu includes slow-cooked goat, aubergine, yoghurt and mint pizza and juniper cured pig belly. Get a reservation now as tables will get booked up fast.

Belpassi Bros

Opens: Sunday July 28

After several successful years running their much-loved Spitalfields meatball truck, twin brothers Livio and Lorenzo Belpassi are putting down roots on Tooting High Street. A lot of love and experimentation went into their meatballs – the sibling team toured Italy in search of the perfect recipe and theirs are served smothered with sauce, in a sandwich or on a homemade pasta or polenta base.

Date for your diary: they're giving away 100 free sandwiches from noon until 2pm on Saturday August 6.
