Three ace new restaurants we can't wait to try

Instead of moaning about the 'summer' weather, why not head down to one of London's latest restaurant openings? Here are the four we can't wait to get down to. 

Bao Fitzrovia

Opened: July 7

What do we know?

Bao’s second base, with more seats (hurrah!) and the same bite-size pillowy Asian buns. They’ve added a few cheeky side plates too – think beef cheek and tendon nuggets and raw langoustine with dulse, aged soy and oyster leaf.

Sardine

 Opened: July 5

What do we know?

Almost as good as a holiday in the Med, ex-Rotorino head chef Alex Jackson brings a slice of the Languedoc to Old Street. Expect rustic farmhouse dishes such as veal-stuffed tomatoes and roast quail.

Rok Smokehouse

Opened: July 1

What do we know?

Shoreditch’s successful Scandi smokehouse has rolled out its second outpost on Upper Street. Gorge on guinea fowl with semi-cured pork belly and sip on concoctions from cocktail guru Matt Whiley.
