Transport enthusiasts, Christmas has come early! There's a new alternative tube map in town and it might just be the the best one yet. Bold claim, but we're sticking by it.

The folks at CityMetric have kindly introduced us to Jug Cerović's latest map masterpiece. In case that name doesn't ring any bells, he's the Paris-based architect and designer who created this lovely alternative tube map back in June. He's now made a new and improved tube map – this time with the rail network included – and it's basically a transport geek's dream. It's also pleasingly colourful - he's stuck with the original colours for the tube network but the rail lines are shown in lighter, more pastel colours to distinguish between the two. Plus all those curvy lines are much easier on the eye than TfL's usual angular offering.

And it's not just style over substance. He's highlighted travel zones with numbers by each station, rather than the grey shading TfL uses. Plus, having both tube and rail lines on the map makes it much easier to see all the interchanges. Oh, and he's added London's major parks to provide a bit more context and help you work out where the heck everything is. Great work, Jug!
