Give yourself a pat on the back Hackney residents, because according to data from The Big Give, you live in the most generous borough in London. The folks who live round London Fields, Stokey and Clapton are most likely to dig deep to give to charity, despite being one of the areas with the lowest earners in London.
The calculations are based on how much money each London borough gives to good causes (based on 18,000 donations) compared to the mean income in the area, and Hackney scores a generous 3.68 percent.
Also coming up trumps according to the data are Newham, Haringey and Tower Hamlets, though it turns out that affluent Richmond, Bromley and Islington are the most tight-fisted areas in London, as shown on the heat map above.
If you want to redeem your area, or boost its generosity rep, you can take part in The Big Give's Christmas Challenge until midday on December 6. In collaboration with The Childhood Trust, it's raising money to provide essential support, warm clothing, hot meals and after-school clubs for the poorest kids in London. The charity will match donations of up to £350,000 to help support the projects.

Or, why not do a festive charity run?
