These are the best spots to see rhododendrons in London

These beautiful pink and red blossoms are filling the city with eye-popping pockets of colour. Here’s where to catch fabulous Rhododendron blossoms at their prime. 

1. Rhododendron Dell, Kew Gardens 

Delve into this secluded dell to see hundreds of striking blooms, initially brought to the botanic gardens from the Himalayas over 150 years ago. Here you’ll see unique hybrids not found anywhere else in the world. Royal Botanic Gardens. Tube: Kew Gardens. £14, £13 concs.

2. Isabella Plantation 

Huge bushes bursting with richly hued blossoms fill this secret woodland hidden at the edge of sprawling Richmond Park. Look out for groups of the frilly flowers named after the Seven Dwarves. Richmond Park. Hampton Wick rail. Free. 

3. Kenwood House

Hampstead Heath’s famed seventeenth-century neoclassical villa gets a taste of the dramatic as the dense banks of multicoloured rhododendrons frame its sweeping drive in blocks of vivid colour. Kenwood House. Tube: Golders Green. Free.
