It’s not hard to feel overwhelmed by London’s busy-ness. According to a recent survey, one in five Londoners is too worried about being judged negatively to take a proper lunch break. Sure, ambition and dedication are important. But for a few days this week you’ll have a chance to check out of the rat race… without leaving Zone 2.
Tapping into its Swedish roots, car company Volvo is running a pop-up Scandinavian sanctuary in Canary Wharf from Tuesday May 2 to Friday May 5. Their new Volvo XC60 is a new way to escape the city, and to launch it they’re helping busy Londoners relax, re-energise and escape the working day – for a while, at least.
Pop down to Volvo’s stylishly Scandi-looking Escape The City pop-up, and you’ll be able to join yoga classes, plus art and meditation sessions. There’ll be Swedish masseurs, a running club taking 5k laps around the area, and a bike-hire facility. It’s all totally free, and sounds like a great way to pack some wellbeing into your working day. Get off the treadmill and grab yourself some lagom in your lunch hour.
