We've got some ‘Game of Thrones’ news that’ll make you feel as warm and mushy as Tormund does when he clocks Brienne across a chilly courtyard.
Winter is coming and with it the end of ‘Thrones’, but our adventures in Westeros might not be over. HBO has got four writers exploring four possible spin-off shows.
Each writer will work with ‘Game of Thrones’ author George RR Martin on their concept. Current showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff will be attached to the projects too, but won’t write any of them.
We know the writers working on the projects – Max Borenstein (‘Kong: Skull Island’), Jane Goldman (‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’), Brian Helgeland (‘Legend’) and Carly Wray (‘Mad Men’) – but what we don’t know is what the spin-offs will be about or when we are likely to hear more about them.
‘We’ll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our developments, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in,’ HBO told Variety.
Either way, let’s thank the old gods and the new.
‘Game of Thrones’ will be back on Sky Atlantic on July 17.
