…and they're all called Ludacrismas.
London seems to have a pretty big thing for Atlanta rapper (and famed fantasy enquirer) Ludacris. This month, you can attend two separate nights dedicated to both the king of southern hospitality and all things Santa, on the same day. Both Gin & Juice and Chicken N Beer are throwing parties – one east, one south – on December 16, both promising that delicious – if sweaty – combo of Christmas jumpers and the great hip hop tunes from the last 40 years.
Gin & Juice's resident DJs will be taking charge of The Prince of Wales in Brixton, while Radio 1 Xtra's DJ Cable will be headlining Chicken N Beer's night at The Hoxton Pony. They will also be holding an extra, earlier Ludacrismas night at Mangle on December 9.
It was Ludacris who first coined the idea of Ludacrismas back in 2007, after starring as a DJing elf in the film 'Fred Claus'. This contemporary carol appears on the film soundtrack and features Ludacris asking for 'two gold front teeth and ten carat diamonds on a fat gold wreath'.
If that’s still not enough celeb-themed goodness, there’s also Beyoncé's Christmas Party at XOYO on Dec 15 and dedicated Kanye West night Yeezy Christmas at Notting Hill Arts Club on Dec 12.
