Do you like booze? How about activism? Combine the two at the historic Still & Star pub in Aldgate tonight, where The Victorian Society is holding a sit-in to save the pub, which is under threat from demolition.

The site has been a pub since the early to mid-nineteenth century and is believed to be the only 'slum' pub (a private house converted into a licensed pub) left in the City of London.

Developers have plans to demolish the pub and replace it with an office building (what else?), which would look like this:

The Victorian Society will be drinking and discussing plans to save the pub from 6:30pm tonight.

Still & Star is at 1 Little Somerset St, E1 8AH
