Today is the day that the Queen becomes the longest reigning monarch in British history. At 5.30pm (September 9), her Maj will have been reigning for 23,226 days, 16 hours and approximately 30 minutes – if you're asking. But how to celebrate such a momentous day? Er, turn her face into a chocolate lollipop using 3D-printers, obviously.

London start-up Candy Mechanics has created a cast of the Queen's face using a 3D printer, which has been used to make a range of royal lollies, which come in two flavours – milk chocolate biscuit and strawberries and cream. According to the Queen’s Office, all images depicting Her Royal Highness must be ‘made in good taste’, so fingers crossed that one is amused by being rendered in confectionary.

And if you're not a royalist, don't worry – Candy Mechanics is launching a Kickstarter campaign today to raise funds for a London-based candy lab so that we can all make our faces into chocolate lollipops, because why should Liz get to have all the fun?
