The Natural History Museum and Science Museum just had a hilarious spat on Twitter

Who do you think would win in a fight, the Natural History Museum, or the Science Museum? Choose wisely, because the London attractions just went head-to-head in a beautifully geeky Twitter war.

The whole thing was sparked by #AskACurator day, when one user asked: ‘which team of curators would win in a battle’ and ‘what exhibits/items would help you be victorious?’ The gloves were immediately off at the Natural History Museum:

The Science Museum were having none of it, and clapped back with some light ageism.

And then the Natural History Museum went and pulled out the vampire fish. Strong.

Which was swiftly shut down with a finger-waggling MERMAN.
The clash of the treasuries continued like a deranged game of rock, paper, scissors.
The NHM threw in a ‘Game of Thrones’ reference. Good work, NHM.
They were going to call it a draw. But then the Science Museum flipped back into the ring with a game-changer.
Threats of locusts, fly swatters and even carbine firearms were exchanged. At one point, the NHM’s curator of fleas chimed in.
The beef is dying down now, but we suspect the NHM is still hankering for another round. Just look at the shit-eating grin on this sea lion’s face. Natural history vs science: this isn’t over.
