Londoners get a bad rep for being unfriendly, but in our defence, being crammed in a tube carriage or speed-walking down Oxford Street isn't exactly a great environment for striking up a conversation with a stranger. But now there's a new initiative to help us all start talking to each other more. Tea With Strangers organises two-hour 'tea time' sessions in cafés across London, where you can chat to new people over a cuppa. And don't worry – each session is lead by a designated host to get things started and avoid any awkward silences. And if you're really into it, you can even apply to host a session in your local area. Who knows, you might even meet your new BFF. But at the very least, you'll have a good old chinwag over a decent cup of tea.
