Free sherry

Sherry might remind you of your nan, but now you can get a taste of the tipple for free at specialist sherry bar Sack. Every Tuesday this month, it’s giving out freebies to the first 50 people through the door from 5pm. Bringing your gran is optional. Sack. Tube: Moorgate. Every Tue in Sep, from 5pm.

RiverFest

Eat, drink, create, dance and help save messed up waterways at RiverFest, a festival celebrating local talent and raising awareness of pollution in the River Lea. Listen to live music or get stuck in at workshops on recycled art, drumming and kite-making. Lordship Recreation Ground. Tube: Turnpike Lane. Sat Sep 16.
