Tired of handing over your hard-earned cash to high street chains? You can now save money and support local businesses thanks to a new discount card in south London. The South London Club card offers discounts at over 300 cafés, restaurants, bars, hairdressers and shops.

According to South London Club card founder Thomas Page, for every £1 spent with local businesses, 63p goes back into the local economy, compared with just 40p at high-street chain. And given the recent panic about Tesco running out of Ben & Jerry's and Marmite, you've pretty much got no reason to go to a supermarket any more.

The South London Club Card is £15, but you can use the code 'TIMEOUT20' to get 20 percent off your membership.
