An extra day off means an extra day to recover, so take your pick of these great parties happening across London over the May bank holiday.
FRIDAY
Bugged Out: Hot Chip Takeover
Around 2008, the phrase ‘Hot Chip DJs’ was pretty much obligatory on every single club poster in the entire south east of England. Whereas the band’s members used to divide and conquer indie discos everywhere, tonight Joe, Al, Felix and Alexis will be together as one eight-armed DJ machine at XOYO. Needless to say: get ready for the floor.
Radiohead Night: Idio-disco-theque
Couldn’t get tickets for Radiohead’s shows this week? Meh. Chances are, with a new album just out, they won’t play ‘My Iron Lung’, they won’t play ‘Creep’, they won’t play ‘Ripcord’ or any of the other dozens of songs that made you fall in love with them. If you want to flail around to the best of the ’head, this tribute party at the Hackney Attic is for you.
Brixton Beach
If your take on Brixton is: ‘great area, but in DESPERATE need of a pop-up beach’, then your strange request will soon be a reality. This audacious Popes Road pop-up runs Thursday to Saturday from now until late August and features film screenings, DJ sets and live sports.

Rinse & Found present Later
Two great London nightlife institutions come together to bring a staggering techno line-up to Ministry of Sound this week. Sack off the whole of Sunday in order to enjoy Deetron, Jimmy Edgar, Marsellus Wallace and DJ Bone do their thing.
SUNDAY
Douchebag with Girli
Head to the Star of Bethnal Green for a night of trashy pop, synth and indie sounds with a queer twist, plus be a live set by Girli: a new London artist who smashes together grime, electroclash, laconic rap, feminism and eye-watering amounts of shocking pink.
Channel One BBQ
Always wanted to blaze with British dub veterans Channel One? They’re sparking it up this weekend at Jamm in Brixton. And just to be clear, we’re talking about an all-day bank holiday jerk chicken cook-out. Tune in and get (the barbecue) lit.
MONDAY
Drakes Crew
Punctuation sticklers, beware. For anyone else, this Drizzy-centric night sounds like a cracking way to round off the bank holiday. Practise the ‘Hotline Bling’ dance and get all your exes assigned to speed-dial.
