If the prospect of a free Kylie Minogue gig has you spinning around with glee, you need to get yourself down to Oxford Street this Sunday November 1 when the petite pop princess will be doing the honours of turning on the Christmas lights. The lights actually went up a few weeks ago amid shock, chagrin and cries of 'too damn early!' but the festive frenzy officially kicks off this weekend when Foxes, X Factor folks Fleur East and Ben Haenow, some peeps from 'Matilda the Musical', Dave Berry, Lisa Snowdon and, most importantly, Kylie usher in the official Christmas countdown.
The whole shebang will take place outside Pandora near Oxford Circus (257-259 Oxford Street) from 5.30pm but we'd advise you get down there early to get a spot. But if you can't, don't worry – there will be screens dotted along the road. West Oxford Street will also be traffic-free 2pm-6.30pm and lots of shops will be doing 20 percent off in case you feel inspired to start your shopping early. But if you do, don't come in on Monday bragging about how you've already bought all your presents, okay? Thanks.
