Our mates at LondOntheInside have rounded up five things they’re pretty damn excited about this month.
Marmite Pop-Up, Soho Grind, August 4-5
'Are you a lover, not a hater? Then have a go on Marmite's 'love-o-meter', an app that checks your Twitter to see if you've been trolling. If you been spreading joy and no obscenities, you'll score free Marmite on toast, cheese toasties and coffee. See – it pays to be nice to people.'
Showdown, Marylebone, opens August 5
'We love cocktails and we love fried chicken, which is why we're loving the sound of American cocktail bar Showdown. Matt Whiley (he of the Wheely Bin cocktail fame) is doing the drinks, focusing on rye and bourbon, whilst Brad McDonald (The Lockhart) is knocking up Southern specialities.'
Scotch Egg Factor, Yeah! Burger, August 7-22
'There's a good chance you’ve already seen the Scotch Egg burger kicking about on social media (yes, that's a burger encased in a Scotch Egg). Well now it's coming back and there's not one but four different kinds including one for the veggies. Everything in moderation – except when it comes to burgers.'
H&M DIVIDED pop-up, Shoreditch, August 6, 20, 27
'When someone says PARTY at a pop-up with free drinks we says YES. Luckily, H&M is doing just that, launching a pop-up in Shoreditch with lock-ins which include live music and drinks. Get yourselves on that list.'
Free Outdoor Film Fest, East Village, August 6, 7, 14, 16
'The Nomad Cinema has gone east this month, all the way to East Village in Stratford. It'll be popping up for four dates with some special free screenings (FREE is the magic word this month), with films including 'Thelma and Louise' and 'Paddington'. We'll see you at 'Lost Boys'.'
