They say one man's trash is another man's treasure, but in the case of photographer Nick Simons, London's rubbish has become his muse. About 18 months ago he noticed an abandoned fridge on his doorstep, which kickstarted a project devoted to photographing the dumped fridges of south-east London. You'd think he might have run out of material by now, but it turns out his neck of the woods is rife with ropey old fridges as he's currently taken over 130 photographs. But he takes his art seriously, and said that the fridges have to classify as 'dumped' – if they've been left optimistically near the bin then they don't count. Well, he can't just photograph any old rubbish.
