New Star Wars spin-off 'Rogue One' had its world premiere in Hollywood this weekend. The cast and crew were in attendance, alongside a crop of celebrity Star Wars fans.
Now, we can't officially tell you what we thought of the movie until tomorrow, when the review embargo lifts. But 'Rogue One' reportedly premiered to 'wild applause', with celebrities and fans cheering throughout the end credits.
And, if social media is anything to go by, fans are going to love the new stand-alone story...
ROGUE ONE = excellent. People around me saying even better than THE FORCE AWAKENS. Congrats Disney/Lucasfilm/amazing talent involved.

The last time I loved a Star Wars movie as much as I loved #RogueOne, it was 1977.

#RogueOne is FANTASTIC. Incredible action, both planetary and interstellar, and looks GORGEOUS. Most importantly, it feels like Star Wars.

It's 'crowd-pleasing', 'emotional' and 'incredibly satisfying'...
So... #RogueOne? It's freaking great! So many crowd-pleasing moments! It's emotional, exciting and incredibly satisfying. Loved it!

#RogueOne is pretty much everything I was hoping for & then some. So moving/satisfying for so many reasons. Already dying for a 2nd viewing.

And at times rather shocking...
There are certain things that happen in #RogueOne that I wish theaters would install an audience cam come next week.

Dark and gritty, too.
People worried about #RogueOne not being a gritty war film need not worry. It's intense, relentless. You can practically taste the grit.

Gotta emphasize that it's dark, dark, dark. This is a war movie. It puts the Wars in Star Wars, to make a bad pun. #RogueOne
