Londoners are not averse to hanging out in car parks. Just give us a sunset, decent tunes and enough street food and beer to see us through the night and we’ll happily climb ALL the steps (there’s usually no working lift anyway). Now the city’s in for a treat as Peckham Levels, a multi-story carpark turned multi-culture extravaganza has just announced its opening weekend lineup – and it sounds pretty great.
Grab your mates and wind your way around seven levels of open studios, funky interactive light and sound displays and art exhibitions. A whole load of street food traders will also be setting up shop, including vegan pizza from PickyWops and Caribbean chicken wings from Drums & Flats.
While the lower levels will be a bustling hub of activity as local artists, fashion types, crafters, architects, film students and social enterprises move in and show off their wares, levels five and six are where the food, drinks and DJs are at. Take advantage of cocktail offers, yoga-by-candlelight taster sessions, hair consultations and goody bags in Cahoona’s Hair Hub. And of course, there’ll be a photo booth for the obligatory carpark photo shoot.
Peckham Levels opens on Friday December 8 from 6pm till late.
