Partying on Flamingo Pier, Wing Fest and half-price sandwiches: it's LondOntheInside’s tips for August

Advertising

Our mates at LondOntheInside have rounded up five things they’re pretty damn excited about this month.

50 percent off Cure + Cut, Aug 8-12

You've gotta love a massive sarnie, especially when it's filled with meat, mustard and pickles. If this sounds up your strada, say hello to Cure + Cut. It opens this month AND there's 50 percent off for three days. See you in the queue.

Tempesst Live, Dalston Roofpark, Aug 11

There's nothing like a bit of rooftop action come summer time, especially when Hackney Wonderland are throwing the party. They've got Aussie newcomers Tempesst to perform a special stripped-back acoustic set on Dalston Roofpark with beer, cocktails, street food and DJs.

Flamingo Pier, Hackney Wick, Aug 13

Back when Flamingo Pier first graced the Counter Café, we dubbed this the best party in London, and damn were we right. It's good times, good people, great food and even better music. FP are celebrating their two-year anniversary and putting on very a special night at Mick's Garage in Hackney Wick. This is unmissable.

Wing Fest, Dalston, Aug 20

Guaranteed to be clucking great fun, Wing Fest returns to crown the most badass wings in town – and we've been enlisted as one of the judges. With Randy’s Wing BarAbsurd Bird, BBQ Lab & White Men Can’t Jerk all taking part, we're mighty excited to see who'll rule the roost. Now where are our stretchy pants?

Dirty Bones, Shoreditch, opens mid Aug

Makers of THAT mac 'n' cheese-topped burger, Dirty Bones is opening its first site in east London. Expect the usual artery-furring dishes, like truffle cheese-coated fries and masses of meat… but hey, they work wonders on hangovers.
