New app lets students go inside Buckingham Palace (from their classroom)

Ever wanted to swan around Buckingham Palace, checking out the decadent decor and getting up-close and personal with the Queen's abode? Well, now you can. Sort of.

Google has produced a new education tool that will allow teachers to give their students a tour of the palace using Street View technology.

More than half a million guests visit the property each year and the app will allow even more youngsters to check it out. They'll see the Grand Staircase, Throne Room and picture gallery.

The app, called Google Expeditions, also lets teachers show students around the White House, the Great Barrier Reef and the Borneo rainforest
