Getting a train from London back to not-London to see your family over the Christmas period can sap the festive spirit from even the tiniest of Tims. But there’s one thing making Londoners smile on platforms across the capital.

South West Trains has come over all punny to give station names a merry makeover this Yuletide.

Passengers have been instagramming London Winterloo, Three Kingston and Clapham Jingle Bells. Other gems include Deck The Vauxhall, Wo Three Kings and New Mald-wine.

Here are a few of our fave festive puns:

Not all commuters were into the changes, though. Nicole was so angry she confused South West Trains, who named the stations, for TfL, who had nothing to do with it.

For Andy, the merry makeovers meant nothing if trains were still late.

And it was just all too much for one grumpy commuter.
