Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called Friday...

If you’re still reeling from the awful, shitty news of Prince’s death yesterday – and have absolutely zero intention of doing any work today – join us as we binge on some of the finest performances the internet has to offer by Prince Rogers Nelson.

Though the maestro had a somewhat strict attitude towards his work appearing online, a few absolute gems still exist for us to wallow in on this sad day.

Prince at the Capitol Theatre, New Jersey, 1982

When was the last time you went to a gig and heard a crowd lose it this hard, huh? This incendiary performance is pure peak Prince. Back then, you’d let him ‘Jack U Off’, that’s for sure.

Michael Jackson, James Brown and Prince, 1983

Great musicians are always great mimics. And to prove that, witness MJ and Prince paying tribute to the Godfather at this loose and lithe live workout.

Prince on the Lovesexy Tour, 1988

Live and direct from Dortmund, Germany, witness our hero bring his insanely polished and glossy Lovesexy show to life. The crowd are so enraptured that even the guy sweeping the stage gets a cheer at one point.

Prince and 3rdEyeGirl on Saturday Night Live, 2014

As anyone lucky enough to have seen Prince's run of pop-up shows with his last band, 3rdEyeGirl, will tell you, he didn't let up in his later years. Dig this full-on rock assault from this awesome foursome.

Pay your respects at these Prince tribute parties in London.
