Lambeth Council has become the first London borough to ban legal highs, and it's no laughing matter. The ban goes into action today and includes nitrous oxide and all other legal highs, in an attempt to crack down on antisocial behaviour. Luckily, the council's definition of 'legal highs' means that caffeine, tobacco and alcohol are exempt, so you won't have to give up your morning coffee fix or post-work pint under the new rules. But if you're caught with laughing gas you could be hit with a fine of up to £1,000, which definitely ain't no joke.
