Today is National Burger Day, which means that – arbitrary national day or not – it's time to chow down on the best burgers that London has to offer. Here are four places that are offering some sweet deals in celebration of the humble patty.

Dirty Bones' Bob Marley burger

Even if National Burger Day isn't hot on your radar, it probably hasn't escaped your notice that it's Notting Hill Carnival this weekend. To celebrate, Dirty Bones has created a Bob Marley burger, which launches today and is stuffed with a spicy jerk chicken patty, mango and pineapple salsa and topped with curly peppers and crispy onions. But back to National Burger Day – to mark the occasion they're offering 20 percent off all burgers including the Bob Marley special.

Kobe burger at Sushisamaba

If you prefer your burger small but perfectly formed, Sushisamba is bringing back its Kobe mini burger for one day only and it sounds pretty damn swanky. It's £6, which might sound like you're not getting a lot of bang for your buck, but this ain't just any old meat. The patty is made from a grade of meat that comes from cattle raised in Kobe in Japan, which are massaged, plied with sake and fed on a diet that includes a whole lot of beer. Fancy. Sushisamaba, Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, EC2N 4AY.

20% off burgers at The Draft House

The Draft House has got a pretty extensive burger menu with the added bonus that most of it rhymes – there's 'The Yolk', 'The Smoke' and 'The Poke'. Or for those with a healthy appetite there's 'The Poke Supreme' – a patty topped with black bean chilli, cheese and onion rings. It's offering 20 percent off all burgers at all branches for National Burger Day – get your voucher here.

Herman ze German's new burger menu

Hot dog joint Herman ze German is getting in on the action with the launch of a new burger menu today (August 27) in the Charlotte Street branch. But it'll be sticking to its roots with some German-inspired patties including a pork schnitzel burger topped with cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce, and a chicken schnitzel burger with pickled onions, bacon and plenty of sauerkraut. 33 Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia, W1T 1RS

Old Fashioned Burger at Studio Kitchen

What goes well with burgers? Booze, obviously. Inspired by the flavours of an old fashioned cocktail, Studio Kitchen will be infusing this limited edition burger with the flavours of bourbon whisky to create some seriously boozy beef. It comes with a mini old fashioned cocktail too. You can also get a tasty 20 percent off your burger by registering here for a voucher. Studio Kitchen, K West Hotel and Spa, Richmond Way, W14 0AX.

Yeah! Burger at The Star of Kings

Can't decide between a burger or dessert? Thanks to this outrageous partnership from Yeah! Burger and gelato connoisseurs Hackney Lick, you don't have to. This bad boy is a cut above your average burger, as the patty is topped with deep fried avocado ice cream and candied bacon – a sweet and salty dream. Get your hands on it at Strongroom (120-124 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3SQ) or Star of Kings (126 York Way, N1 OAX).
