Two hundred of London's biggest mixers and shakers joined us last night at the Mondrian Hotel's Rumpus Room for our inaugural Time Out Bar Awards!
Our panel of eight expert judges nominated 24 legendary bars from across the city in seven categories – and last night, the winners were finally revealed.
Punch Room at the London Edition claimed the prize for Bar of the Year presented by Woodford Reserve, and also picked up the Most Stylish Bar Award.
‘Choosing a winner from our five shortlisted venues was no easy task,’ said our editor Caroline McGinn. ‘There were heated arguments. There was an incident involving a swizzle stick. In the end, the victor nailed it because of its the old-school glamour, the classic-yet-cool drinks and the overwhelming sense of occasion.’
Stoke Newington's Original Sin was chosen as the Best New Bar of 2015!
'Both Time Out’s critics and readers have raved about how friendly the staff are at this east London bar,' said Caroline.
The Best Bar Team, from Dandelyan, didn't have to travel far (you can find them on the ground floor of the Mondrian) while their Hoxton-based sister bar White Lyan won Most Creative Bar, presented by Matugga Rum.
London's Hippest Bar was awarded to Satan's Whiskers in Bethnal Green, while the Classiest Bar, presented by Gin Mare, was the Connaught Bar in Mayfair.
