In pictures: the Regent Street Christmas lights switch-on

Sure, it's only November, but it's already beginning to look a lot like Christmas in London. Pret's Christmas sandwiches are back on the shelves, we're all blubbing our way through the John Lewis advert and Regent Street is looking a whole lot more sparkly after the official switch-on of the Christmas lights yesterday. The Regent Street lights have been lighting up London at Christmas for the last 61 years, and this year's lights are apparently the most technologically advanced ever, inspired by Regent Street's watchmaking heritage. The switch-on event was hosted by Myleene Klass and everyone's favourite 'Walking in the Air singer' Aled Jones, and the lights were switched on by 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Darcey Bussell.
