Hooray! There's free travel on all public transport in London on New Year's Eve

We don't want to panic anyone, but New Year's Eve is only 24 days away - which gives you just over three weeks to decide whether that extortionately priced club ticket is really worth it or if you can face the trek to your friend's house party in Streatham. But at least one thing's sorted, as TfL is continuing its annual tradition of FREE travel on New Year's Eve. We're still waiting (im)patiently for the night tube to launch, but for one night we can ride on the tube after hours as travel will be free between 11.45pm and 4.30am on buses, tubes, trams, DLR, TfL Rail and the London Overground. So you can steer clear of Uber's inevitable insane price surge and save your pennies for another round of ill-advised shots. Yay!
