If you were wandering round London on Saturday evening and plunged into darkness, don't worry, it wasn't some mass, city-wide power cut. At 8.30pm on Saturday, people across London switched off their lights as part of Earth Hour, the world's biggest annual environment event organised by the World Wildlife Fund. London landmarks including the London Eye, Big Ben and Harrods all dimmed their lights for an hour of darkness on Saturday night.
