You want to show the main man in your life that you care – that you’re a fully-grown adult who can afford to treat him once in a while – but the truth is you’re broke. Don’t panic. A number of bars and restaurants are offering free drinks for Father’s Day – and what’s a better way to say ‘I love you dad’ than with booze you didn’t actually pay for?
Our favourite alcoholic giveaway is ‘Drams for Dads’ at Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild. Come Sunday, all the dads in the house will receive a complimentary dram of a single malt whiskey called ‘The Classic Laddie’. There’s also free Scandinavian tipples at Aquavit, free ‘Reindeer’ old-fashioned cocktails at Aster, and good old fashioned pints at Tom’s Kitchen. The catch? You have to actually buy food in order to get your dad a free drink. But still. If you’re really skint, maybe you can convince your old man to cover the food – it’s the thought that counts... right?
