London may be a city glued to its phones, but there's now a campaign to encourage us to spare a thought for the classic red telephone box (most of which, let's face it, have seen better days).

Launched by the Red Kiosk Company in Brighton, a new crowdfunding campaign wants to raise £4,000 to help maintain phone boxes around the country, including one on King William Walk in Greenwich.

The initial plan was to convert the box into a retail space – just like the one that popped up in Hampstead – but after local authorities rejected a planning application, the group hopes the Greenwich box can be saved from disrepair instead.

They've already done an impressive job saving 140 phone boxes across the UK since 2014.
