Yesterday, the sad news broke that Alan Rickman had died from cancer aged 69. Although he had a hugely versatile career, with roles on screen and on stage in everything from ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ to ‘Die Hard’, in recent years he was most known for his role as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films. Since the news emerged, fans have turned Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross into a memorial for Alan Rickman, leaving notes and flowers.
