When we saw that boozy mobile app Drinki was giving away free drinks to voters today, our curiosity was piqued. This is how it works: just take a pic of yourself on your way to vote then tag @drinkiapp on social media – and they’ll give you a code; slam it in the app and you’ll get gratis booze at one of more than a hundred London bars. Easy!
But wait! A little digging, and it seems that the folks at Drinki are giving away free booze EVERY SINGLE DAY. And have been for a while now.
What do you need to do? Download the free app and show it to the bartender in one of a selection of participating watering holes. They give you a free drink of their choice. The more people you refer to the app, the more frequently you can get a free drink – though it is limited to one per day. There are five ‘levels’ to hit: you begin at ‘Fresh’ (no referrals and a free drink once every two weeks) and progress to ‘Hero’ after referring 20 people, giving you a free tipple every day. You’ll be lightly pickled in no time.
The selection of participating bars is tip top too, from the many branches of Grind and Simmons to Stokey’s Makè hai, Soho’s Dirty Harry’s, Greenwood in Victoria and tons more. Frankly, we’re kicking ourselves for not spotting it earlier. See you at the bars.
